Mr Mohamed Basheer is a Consultant General Surgeon with a wide range of experience in gastro-intestinal surgery, laparoscopic surgery and vascular surgery. He has been working as a Consultant General Surgeon in both the NHS and private sector in West Yorkshire for the past 12 years.
He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG) and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Leeds Medical School. He is registered as a Specialist in General Surgery with the General Medical Council (GMC).
As a fully qualified surgeon, Mohamed Basheer specialises in gastro-intestinal surgery including treatment of colorectal tumours. He also carries out the majority of colorectal surgery using laparascopic techniques. He also performs a variety of hernia operations laparoscopically. He undertook specialist training in Edinburgh and in Aberdeen.
He is also experienced in diagnostic procedures, such as gastroscopies and colonoscopies in the investigation of gastro-intestinal disease and offers a one-stop / straight-to-test service.
Mr Basheer enjoys helping trainee surgeons develop their clinical & operative skills. He is interested in trauma and is an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Instructor, as well as being an examiner for the IMRCS examination. In addition, he is a Member of the University of Leeds Faculty of Medicine and Health. Outside of medicine, his hobbies and interests include cricket, motor racing and football, as well as spending time with his family. |
